Dr. Kristin Van Damme

Dr. Kristin Van Damme is projectmanager bij VRT Innovatie (R&D), waar ze werkt op het snijvlak van AI, journalistiek en publiek. Ze onderzoekt hoe algoritmes en nieuwe technologieën huidige informatie-ecosystemen vormgeven, en wat dat betekent voor vertrouwen, waarheid en publieke besluitvorming. In haar werk brengt ze redacties, onderzoekers en technologiepartners samen om (AI-)toepassingen te ontwikkelen die journalistieke kwaliteit versterken en de rol van burgers in het nieuwslandschap vergroten. Met een achtergrond in onderzoek (imec-mict-UGent, Arteveldehogeschool) focust ze op thema's zoals factchecking, platformmacht en de toekomst van betrouwbare informatie in een digitale samenleving.

Dr. Kristin Van Damme is a project manager at VRT Innovation (R&D), where she works at the intersection of AI, journalism and the public.
