Fernando Cucchietti

Fernando Cucchietti leidt het Creative Intelligence Laboratory aan het Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). Hij behaalde een doctoraat in kwantumcomputing en verrichtte postdoctoraal onderzoek aan het Los Alamos National Laboratory (VS) en het Institute of Photonic Sciences (Spanje). Zijn werk richt zich op wetenschappelijke datavisualisatie en data science voor industrie en onderzoek, met bijzondere aandacht voor digital twins en AI-gedreven industriële toepassingen. Voortbouwend op langdurige samenwerkingen met kunstenaars ontwikkelt hij data-ervaringen, interactieve toepassingen en bekroonde wetenschapsdocumentaires, en richt hij zich nu op kunst-wetenschapsinnovatie en publieke betrokkenheid.

Fernando Cucchietti leads the Creative Intelligence Laboratory at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). He holds a Ph.D. in quantum computing and completed postdoctoral research at Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA) and the Institute of Photonic Sciences (Spain). His work focuses on scientific data visualization and data science for industry and research, with particular emphasis on digital twins and AI-driven industrial applications. Drawing on long-standing collaborations with artists, he develops data experiences, interactive applications, and award-winning science documentaries, and now focuses on art–science innovation and public engagement.
