Guy Nagels
Prof. dr. Guy Nagels is adjunct-hoofd van de afdeling Neurologie van het UZ Brussel en universitair hoofddocent aan de Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Zijn klinische expertise en onderzoek richten zich op multiple sclerose (MS), waarbij hij met name onderzoekt hoe de ziekte de hersenfunctie beïnvloedt en leidt tot cognitieve problemen zoals geheugenverlies en concentratieproblemen.
Tijdens de sessie op woensdag, getiteld ‘Building AI that doctors use and patients trust’, zal Guy het perspectief van de clinicus belichten: wat is er nodig om AI en geavanceerde beeldvormingsinstrumenten echt bruikbaar te maken in de klinische praktijk? Hij maakt zelf al gebruik van de icobrain-module van icometrix AI en zal ingaan op de vraag waar deze technologieën neurologen kunnen ondersteunen, waar de grenzen liggen en wat uiteindelijk bepaalt of innovatie de zorg voor patiënten daadwerkelijk verbetert.
