Ine Wouters

Ine Wouters (VUB, Departement Bouwkunde) is gespecialiseerd in bouwtechnieken, bouwgeschiedenis en structurele renovatie. Haar onderzoek richt zich op de bouwgeschiedenis van de 19e en 20e eeuw, met name op ijzeren en stalen constructies, productieprocessen en naoorlogse bouw, met als doel historische bouwwerken en het gebouwde erfgoed beter te beoordelen en te restaureren. Ine was medeorganisator van de eerste International Summer Schools on Construction History (CH.ESS), de SAHC2016-conferentie in Leuven en het Zesde Internationale Congres over Bouwgeschiedenis in Brussel, en is actief in internationale netwerken op het gebied van industrieel erfgoed en bouwgeschiedenis.

Ine Wouters (VUB, Department of Architectural Engineering) specialises in construction techniques, construction history and structural renovation. Her research focuses on 19th‑ and 20th‑century building history, particularly iron and steel structures, production processes and post‑war construction, with the aim of better assessing and rehabilitating historic structures and built heritage. Ine co‑organised the first International Summer Schools on Construction History (CH.ESS), the SAHC2016 conference in Leuven and the Sixth International Congress on Construction History in Brussels, and is active in international networks on industrial heritage and construction history.
