Thierry Geerts

Thierry Geerts (CEO, BECI) is aan het hoofd van de Brusselse Kamer van Koophandel en werkgeversorganisatie, waar hij de belangen van in Brussel gevestigde bedrijven behartigt en verdedigt in een snel veranderende economie. Voordat hij in 2024 het roer bij BECI overnam, stond hij meer dan 12 jaar aan het hoofd van Google België en Luxemburg, en bekleedde hij eerder leidinggevende functies bij mediagroep Mediahuis en in de industriële dienstverlening. Hij is opgeleid als handelsingenieur en auteur van twee boeken over de impact van digitalisering en AI op de samenleving. Daarnaast was hij medeoprichter van de digitale campussen BeCentral in Brussel en Wintercircus in Gent. Thierry zet zijn uitgebreide digitale en ondernemerservaring nu in om het economische ecosysteem van Brussel te versterken en de hoofdstad te positioneren als een toekomstgericht zakencentrum.

Thierry Geerts (CEO, BECI) the Brussels Chamber of Commerce and employers’ organisation, where he represents and champions the interests of Brussels‑based businesses in a rapidly changing economy. Before taking the helm at BECI in 2024, he led Google Belgium and Luxembourg for more than 12 years, and previously held senior roles in media group Mediahuis and in industrial services. A commercial engineer by training and author of two books on the impact of digitalisation and AI on society, he also co‑founded digital campuses BeCentral in Brussels and Wintercircus in Ghent.
