Yoeri Bellemans

Yoeri Bellemans is een Belgische sociaal ondernemer, initiatiefnemer en medeoprichter van Bûûmplanters en NoWayBack vzw. Hij ontwikkelt projecten op het snijvlak van ecologie, burgerparticipatie, cultuur en maatschappelijke innovatie.

In 2017 stond hij mee aan de wieg van Bûûmplanters, een burgerinitiatief voor het vergroenen van Brussel dat uitgroeide tot een professionele werking binnen NoWayBack vzw, met inmiddels honderdduizenden aangeplante bomen en struiken. Als bestuurder van NoWayBack vzw bouwde hij mee aan projecten rond vergroening, circulaire economie, duurzaam waterbeheer en klimaatadaptatie in Brussel, Vlaanderen en daarbuiten.

Doorheen zijn loopbaan ontwikkelde Bellemans zich tot een bruggenbouwer tussen burgers, bedrijven en overheden, met als rode draad: complexe maatschappelijke uitdagingen vertalen naar tastbare projecten. Naast zijn engagement voor natuur en klimaat is hij al jarenlang actief in de Brusselse muziek- en cultuursector, als medeoprichter van het dj-collectief en radioproject Onda Sonora.

Yoeri Bellemans is a Belgian social entrepreneur, initiator and co-founder of Bûûmplanters and NoWayBack vzw. He develops projects at the intersection of ecology, civic participation, culture and social innovation.

In 2017, he co-founded Bûûmplanters, a citizens' initiative to green Brussels that grew into a professional operation within NoWayBack vzw, with hundreds of thousands of trees and shrubs planted to date. As a board member of NoWayBack vzw, he has helped shape projects around greening, the circular economy, sustainable water management and climate adaptation in Brussels, Flanders and beyond.

Throughout his career, Bellemans has become a bridge-builder between citizens, companies and governments, with a consistent thread: translating complex societal challenges into tangible projects.

Alongside his commitment to nature and climate, he has long been active in Brussels' music and culture scene, as co-founder of the DJ collective and radio project Onda Sonora.
